Hindustan Zinc’s Captive Power Plant (CPP) at Zawar Mines and Dariba Smelting Complex won ‘National Award for Excellence in Water Management’ 2018. The award was presented at the 4th Water Innovation Summit 2018 by CII – Triveni Water Institute, held on 4th and 5th October 2018 at a glittering ceremony in New Delhi.

Dariba Smelting Complex received the 12th National Award for Excellence in Water Management under ‘Within the Fence’ category. The Captive Power Plant at Zawar was certified and recognised by CII – Triveni Water Institute as a ‘Water Efficient Unit’, under the same category.
The selections were based upon plant performance data & improvement initiatives taken for water conservation, followed by a site visit and presentation to the jury members of CII. Many renowned companies of India participated in the Summit, out of which 33 companies have received the certification.
On behalf of Hindustan Zinc, Mr. Ananta Ghui (Head Engineering–DSC), Mr. Hemendra Sharma (Head-Utility, DSC), Mr. Ankit Mishra (Environment Head-DSC), Mr. AbhayPratap Singh (Head Operations–CPP Zawar) and Mr. Rohitash Sharma (Engineer–CPP Zawar) received the certificate and award from Mr. U P Singh Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Government of India and Mr. Rajiv Ranjan Mishra Director General National Mission for Clean Ganga, Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Govt. of India.
