“KHUSHI” Campaign on Child Care Completes ONE YEAR
Padamshree Krishna Poonia expressed her happiness and commended the Vedanta group campaign on care for the underprivileged children, “KHUSHI”. Pavan Kaushik, Head – Corporate Communication at Vedanta Group, informed that Krishna Poonia communicated her happiness and need for such campaign in India, as the country is passing through a tough phase, where more than 50% of the child population is malnourished in India.
She was speaking on the completion of successful one year of “KHUSHI” campaign which was launched by Vedanta Group on social media on 10th April 2012. She also expressed that other prominent sports persons should come forward and support such social cause which are directly linked to the development of India. The awareness needs to spread as much as possible to make India a child malnourished free country.
Krishna Poonia, the two-times Asian Games Medalist at Doha in 2006 and Guangzhou, China in 2010 and finalist of 2012 Olympics in London, and the proud recipient of the Arjuna Award in 2010 and Padma Sri Award in 2011 has also joined the KHUSHI campaign and taking the cause forward.
Krishna was particularly happy about the non-funding of the campaign as such campaign motivates self to take up child welfare activities. One needs to align with the inner-self and understand the problem with mind and soul, she says.
Her husband and coach, Dronacharya Virendar Poonia informed that Krishna has been associated with the cause of female feticide and blood donations and KHUSHI campaign has touched her heart.
