To give impetus to road safety, Hindustan Zinc has been organizing special drives in the last few days. On Sunday, 17th January 2016, the company took out a special bikers rally to create awareness towards road safety within the common people. 18 bikers of Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar’s biker club (LRSM 6001) drove from Udaipur to Dariba (in Rajsamand district of Rajasthan) covering about 100 km. The rally was flagged off by Vikas Sharma, COO(Smelters) and Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, Prince of Udaipur.
Speaking on the occasion Vikas Sharma said “Our Safety is our own responsibility and each individual should be committed to follow the traffic rules”.
Hindustan Zinc has also been organizing a number of campaigns on road safety to create awareness amongst the families of zinc employees, the drivers of employees and also drivers engaged in business operations. Pavan Kaushik, Head Corporate Communication of Hindustan Zinc informed that “week long awareness campaign at Hindustan Zinc on Road Safety started from 11th January, 2016 and concluded with the awareness road trip on Sunday, the 17th January, 2016. During this week various events were organised at all locations of HZL, including the residential colonies, focusing on various aspects of Road Safety. Special training programmes were organised for the family members of the employees regarding the fastening seat belts, wearing helmets, adhering to the speed limits, driving in lanes and other traffic rules. A workshop was also organised for the drivers engaged by various employees in the company asking them to strictly follow the traffic rules.”
