The Press Club of Udaipur as Lakecity Press Club awarded Pavan Kaushik, Head of Corporate Communication, Hindustan Zinc with “Udaipur Ratna Award” for outstanding contribution in the field of launching social awareness campaign Sakhi for empowerment of rural and tribal women and Khushi on care for the deprived and underprivileged children.

The Award was given to him in a function organized in Udaipur on 26th January 2016. “As a corporate, Hindustan Zinc has strong focus on care for rural women and children. While designing Sakhi and Khushi campaigns, our objective was to build a strong communication campaign and also work at the ground level for the cause. My experience of over 27 years in communication has been quite helpful towards execution of such campaigns. When it is a matter of rural poor, the strategy has to be of ground level, involving more of rural people and communicating in their own language. The campaign must reach out to rural masses.” said Pavan Kaushik while receiving the award.
Prior to stint with Vedanta Resources plc, Pavan Kaushik has worked on some of the most prestigious central government publicity campaigns like, New Economic Policy, Rural Development, Aids Awareness, Child Education, Immunization, Income Tax, National Integration & Communal Harmony, 50 Years of India’s Independence, Film Festivals – National & International, Drug Abuse, and on several socio-economic subjects, while he was in Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity (DAVP), Government of India, and post that in his stint in the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) launched Fashion Communication Deptt. taught Fashion Communication as Associate Professor and looked after brand promotion of NIFT for 8 years. Author of book ‘Me Within Myself’ Pavan Kaushik has been a regular column writer for print media.
