We nearly picked-up a heated conversation with this girl who was first speaking over the mobile and then started texting messages/Whatsapp. Her two-wheeler nearly collided with a road divider. And to save her from collusion she came right in front of my car. Expecting such reckless driving, I had already applied brakes but still she could not help falling on the ground.
An argument happened. She was more inclined to explain how important it was for her to attend the call and how important was the Whatsapp message to read. And we gave her the reasons for not to speak while driving. If it was so important, she could have stopped and answered. Anyway, she finally apologised and promised not to repeat.
It is not that she would not do the same mistake again, we know she would continue to do it again and again, but the point is till how long… how long will she escape a vigilant driver.. how long would someone be cautious about saving such drivers. Someday, someone like her, who would also be busy over phone will do an irreparable mistake…
In a recent judgement, Hon’ble Rajasthan High Court has ruled to cancel the licence of all those who talk over mobile phone while driving…
Accidents do not come by invitation – but some might get an SMS for an Accident… Who cares – unless someone who cares stops … stops breathing…
