Hind Zinc in the global top 5 rankings of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index 2021

Hindustan Zinc retained its 1st position in Asia-Pacific in Mining and Metal sector with top scores in three dimensions, The company is also ranked 1st Globally in Environment dimension achieving a score of 88/100
Udaipur : Recognised globally for their green actions and commitment towards sustainable operations, Hindustan Zinc is proud to announce that it has improved it’s ranking to 5th globally in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) 2021 among 81 assessed companies in the mining and metal sector. The overall score for Hindustan Zinc improved from 74 last year to 76 this year which put them in the global top 5 bracket of DJSI.Hindustan Zinc has also retained its 1st rank in the Asia-Pacific region in the Index, with top scores in three dimensions.

Hindustan Zinc, India’s largest and world’s leading integrated Zinc-Lead-Silver producer, has a strong focus on maintaining highest ESG standards, actioning against climate change, and conservation of water & energy. Hind Zinc honoured with the title ‘India’s Largest Silver Miner and Refiner’

Through a transparent selection process, IGC IGC Excellence Award Committee recognises and awards outstanding performance by industry players. Hindustan Zinc’s online portal initiative was applauded by the IGC Excellence Award Committee.
Udaipur : The IGC Excellence Award Committee presented Hindustan Zinc with the award ‘India’s Largest Silver Miner and Refiner’ at the Marriott in Jaipur. Hindustan Zinc Limited received the award for their online portal initiative, which enabled silver users to get metal during the most difficult period of COVID-19 led lockdown in FY20 and FY21. Ms. Amrita Singh (Chief Marketing Officer) received the award on behalf of Hindustan Zinc.

To eliminate manual intervention, the company began selling silver spots through an e-auction, giving all the buyers an equal chance to compete and complete price transparency during sales. The ceremony was graced by XXX.
Eventell Global Advisory Private Limited and the India Bullion & Jewellers Association (IBJA) collaborated to organise the event. The Indian Gold Conference (IGC) strives to provide a neutral platform for the gold bullion industry to connect, discuss, and deliberate on the sector’s future.
Hindustan Zinc is India’s only major silver producer, ranking sixth among the world’s top silver producers. The company serves a wide range of markets, including the industrial sector (electrical components, solders and alloys, and pharmaceuticals), as well as jewellery and silverware. The world-class, silver rich Sindesar Khurd Mine (SKM) of Hindustan Zinc is India’s largest underground mine, with a capacity of 6 million tonnes. In FY21, the company produced the most silver it has ever produced, at 706 tonnes, up 16% year over year. Higher output from current and new silver-rich resources, as well as improved process recovery, are driving the company’s goal of reaching 1,000 tonnes in the coming few years. This will place them in a position to become one of the world’s top three silver producers.


Hind Zinc celebrates Cyber Security Awareness Month

Hindustan Zinc hosted a variety of activities to promote awareness about cyber security, Participants were given training on cyber awareness, experienced a phishing simulation, quizzed on cybersecurity and given tips to ensure cybersecurity in daily life
Udaipur : In this modern digital era, cyber security is a crucial aspect for everyone, both as an organization and as an individual. Hindustan Zinc celebrated the month of October as Cyber Security Awareness Month, with the theme “Do Your Part. #BeCyberSmart”. The theme encourages people and enterprises to take ownership of their role in safeguarding their part of cyberspace.

The celebration at Hindustan Zinc commenced with the CEO Mr Arun Misra sharing his thoughts on the significance of cyber security in daily life and encouraging everyone to participate in generating awareness about it.“We at Hindustan Zinc have taken various initiatives in the cyber security domain and are more able to defend, counter and mitigate threats before they become a challenge for us. If everyone conducts responsibly and does their part then it becomes easier to implement security practices, raising community awareness, educating vulnerable audiences and training employees. This will ensure that our interconnected world is safer, closer and more resilient for everyone to function harmoniously.”Following the CEO’s briefing, the organization’s COO-Mines, CFO, CHRO, and other leaders spoke to all employees about the necessity of cyber security.
Throughout the month, Hindustan Zinc initiated a wide range of activities to raise awareness about cyber security, which includes communicating daily cyber tips and tricks to protect oneself from cyber threats, conducting cyber security quizzes to evaluate awareness among employees, performing cyber awareness training for both employees &local community, conductedphishing simulation and many more. The company organized four weekly cyber security quizzes, with overwhelming response and participation across functions and sites. The organization has also identified several areas where it would establish a more targeted cyber threat awareness strategy.
Hindustan Zinc has integrated technological advancement into its supply chain operations, which are noted for their innovation and originality. On the IT front, Hindustan Zinc has set the bar high, implementing a variety of controls and filters that restrict access to available data to only those personnel who have been given permission. Recently, the organization earned certification for integrated ISO systems for its IT systems. Hind Zinc hosts at Zawar Mines on Indian Mining Day

Udaipur : On the occasion of Indian Mining Day, Hindustan Zinc, India’s largest mining business, hosted the MEAI Rajasthan Chapter on November 1, 2021, at Zawar Group of Mines. “ESG strategy for Indian Mining Industry” was the theme for this year’s Indian Mining Day. The event exploredthe current scenario, technical advancements, and numerous concerns associated with ESG-based mining, as well as potential future innovations and advancements. Many dignitaries attended the mega event, including MrB.L.Kotriwala, Regional Controller of Mines, Indian Bureau of Mines,Mr.Praveen Sharma, COO Mines, Hindustan Zinc, Mr Y.C. Indian Mining Day (IMD) is recognized and commemorated every year on November 1st. The Mining Engineers’ Association of India (MEAI), a national body with over 5000 members distributed over 25 regional chapters across the country, spearheads the celebration of Indian Mining Day. MEAI actively represents and honours all professionals in India’s minerals and mining sector on this day. To keep the mining professionals motivated and make the event more productive, a variety of talks and conversations were held at multiple locations across India. The event was commemorated at Hindustan Zinc’s flagship Zawar mines, one of India’s oldest Lead Zinc mines which has been the center of silver, lead, and zinc mining for over 2500 years. The mines are quite testaments to the country’s extractive prowess in ancient times. Zawar remains one of Hindustan Zinc Limited’s oldest and primary Zinc – Lead producing operations, with best-in-class technological advancements. Zawar Mines comprises of four mines: Mochia, Balaria, Zawar Mala, and Baroi. With on-going additions to its reserve and resource base, the Zawar group of mines are a mark of the Hindustan Zinc’s rich heritage and legacy.
