Hind Zinc Tops Metal & Mining Sector Globally in the ‘Environment Category’

The Company ranks 1st in ‘Environment’ and overall 5th globally

Hindustan Zinc tops Metal & Mining sector globally in the Environment category in Dow Jones Sustainability Index. The Company has also been ranked overall 5th globally by Dow Jones Sustainability Index in the metals and mining sector. Hindustan Zinc has improved its position from the last year when it was ranked 11th globally.

Not many years ago, our mother used to get-up at 4:30 in the morning to check if water has come. We all have seen our elders rushing to close the tap to prevent water being wasted. The intentions were never to assess how much water is left, rather the intentions were to save as much as we can. During those days water was not as scarce as today, but still, the wise-souls knew some day this most used and needed natural resource will be scarce.

It is quite surprising as how the plastic bottles and broken plastic that we throw in our dustbins becomes part of recycling process and ultimately comes back to us in the shape and form of a finished product. Something that we throw as part of waste becomes means of livelihood for others, or is it that, someone is collecting these plastic waste on our behalf and sending it to its right place – the recycling units ?
