Over 150 women trained in 8 day specialised training under “Sakhi” campaign
Looking at the growing market of school uniforms and in line to provide sustainable source of income to the rural and tribal women, Hindustan Zinc organised two 4-day workshops for “Sakhi” women at Udaipur. A total of 150 rural and tribal Women got together to participate in the specialised workshop of Hindustan Zinc’s women empowerment campaign “Sakhi”.
Vedanta’s company Hindustan Zinc ‘Sakhi’ campaign awarded 22 rural women, self-help-groups and NGOs for their contribution towards up-liftment of rural and tribal women in Rajasthan.
“Self-help-groups are change agent and play an important role in bringing forward rural and tribal women. These self-help-groups act as catalyst of change and bring socio-economic empowerment and make these rural women independent and confident” said Rajasthan Chief Minister, Smt. Vasundhara Raje.
