VEDANTA ROLLS OUT VACCINATION PROGRAM FOR EMPLOYEES, FAMILIES

More than 1.2 lakh people across group companies will be vaccinated under the program
Delivering on its commitment to ensure the health and well-being of its people, Vedanta has launched a mega vaccination drive across its locations to cover all employees, their families and business partners. The company has received 50,000 doses of the vaccine and employees and family members are being inoculated across business units. Vedanta is procuring an additional 2 lakh doses to complete the inoculation plan, which covers Business Partners, along with family members. More than 1.2 lakh people will be vaccinated under the program.

Employee-centricity is at the core of Vedanta which has taken up employee friendly initiatives to promote health and safety of its people, especially during the current pandemic. The company is spending around Rs 12.6 crore to procure vaccines in bulk for the Vedanta family.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Anil Agarwal-Chairman, Vedanta said “The safety and well-being of every single member of Vedanta and the extended family of business partners is of paramount importance. Our vaccination drive will ensure 100 per cent of our people are inoculated. We stand firmly with the central and state governments in contributing towards the country’s vaccination program.”
Hindustan Zinc (HZL), a Vedanta Group company has initiated a COVID-19 mega vaccination drive for its employees, business partners and their family members across its locations in Rajasthan at Ajmer, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Rajsamand and Udaipur. The company has been standing in complete solidarity with communities, state government and local administration in this fight against COVID-19 through various relief measures.
To provide a seamless and safe vaccination experience, the company has set-up an on-site vaccination camp to avoid unnecessary exposure in hospital visits and makes it super convenient as there is minimal waiting time. The vaccine is administered by qualified professionals from the hospital. The aim is to cover 100 % workforce of Hindustan Zinc and their families in next few days who had registered on the Cowin platform, following which slots are booked on the link provided by HZL. Further, the definition of family has been expanded that covers spouse, parents, grandparents, eligible children and siblings. This vaccination drive aims at not only making its employees and their families safer, but also support the public administration educe the pressure on public health systems and help India counter the pandemic challenges more effectively.

Meanwhile, to provide a sense of security to employees and their families, Vedanta has introduced a best-in-class Term Life Insurance Policy with world-wide coverage for all executives across the group. The policy provides with coverage of 5x fixed pay of employees which is equivalent to annual salary for 5 years. The Term Life insurance provides financial security for the dependents of the employees in the unfortunate event of death and is in addition to Mediclaim and Group Personal Accident insurance policies currently provided to support the employees in emergencies.
The Medical insurance cover has also been enhanced to 1.5 times the existing eligibility. Vedanta is extending all support that is required and corporate floater cover is introduced for any employee that exceeds their eligibility.
It is rolling out 10 Vedanta Cares Field Hospitals for Covid patient across the country. The Field Hospital project – an initiative of Anil Agarwal Foundation – is being rolled out in Delhi NCR, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Tamil Nadu.
Hindustan Zinc, committed to their Chairman’s thought of giving back, has come out firmly in support of the Rajasthan government in its efforts to take both preventive and curative measures against the pandemic. In last few months, the company has ensured over 5000+ vaccinations so far in the first drive for employees, family members, business partners employees and their families. There is also a dedicated 24×7 Covid Care Apollo helpline number to provide any kind of healthcare support and assistance for all its employees and their dependents.
The company has set up an oxygen bottling plant at its Dariba unit (Rajsamand district) in a record time of 5 days earlier this month and since then has supplied over 11,000 cylinders of medical oxygen and has also supported the local authorities with over ~300 MT oxygen till date. Hindustan Zinc had especially imported and brought 500 oxygen concentrators for the state and handed over to Hon’ble Chief Minister of Rajasthan – Shri Ashok Gehlot in a virtual program in the presence of Vedanta Group Chairman – Mr. Anil Agarwal.
Earlier this year, Hindustan Zinc provided an insulated vaccine van to the Udaipur district medical health office to support a smooth vaccination drive. The company has even extended support to the Local Health Administrations, by disinfecting villages by spraying & fumigating with Sodium Hypochlorite solution and providing medical gears like masks, sanitizers & Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs).


Hind Zinc hands over 500 Oxygen Concentrators to Rajasthan CM

Udaipur. Hindustan Zinc (HZL), a Vedanta Group company has always been at the forefront to support community and government in the fight against COVID-19. In continuation of its efforts to meet the shortage of Oxygen in hospitals of Rajasthan, the company has gone a step further and especially imported and brought 500 oxygen concentrators for the state.

The Oxygen Concentrators were handed over to Hon’ble Chief Minister of Rajasthan – Shri Ashok Gehlot by Hindustan Zinc in a virtual program in the presence of Vedanta Group Chairman – Shri. Anil Agarwal, Vedanta CEO – Shri. Sunil Duggal and Hindustan Zinc CEO – Shri. Arun Misra.
During the ceremony, the first tranche of 200 Oxygen concentrators were also given to the district administrations of Ajmer, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Rajsamand and Udaipur. These Oxygen concentrators will help those whose saturation levels range between 88-92 during the time of respiratory distress. It could be one of the solutions to the short supply of oxygen beds in hospitals or outside hospitals.
Speaking on the occasion, Hon’ble CM of Rajasthan, Shri Ashok Gehlot said “I appreciate the support that Vedanta has been providing under the leadership of Anil Agarwal ji.In today’s circumstances, the coronavirus infection situation in the state has been controlled to a great extent with the joint efforts of government and private sectors like Hindustan Zinc and Cairn. These 500 concentrators, oxygen plant & cylinders, vaccination van, hospitals and medical equipment provided to us by you & your team for the communities in the time of need will aid in our fight against this pandemic. I am also happy to know that you would want to volunteer in helping us to conduct a vaccination drive in Rajasthan. We are looking forward to continue working closely with you & your team”.

Hindustan Zinc has also initiated a COVID-19 Vaccination drive and has ensured over 5000 vaccinations so far for employees, family members, community, contract workforce and business partners. The company has introduced the Group Corona Kavach Policy for its contract workforce across locations in Rajasthan. This cashless policy covers all corona related diagnostic charges including pre-hospitalization and post-hospitalization expenses.

Vedanta group has already pledged 150 crores and 1000 hospital beds to the nation in the fight against the second wave of the pandemic. All the subsidiaries and group companies have stepped up to relentlessly work in different parts of the country to provide round the clock support. In addition to Hindustan Zinc’s efforts in Rajasthan, Cairn India has set-up a 100-bed state-of-the-art `field hospital’ and had recently converted a girl’s college into a 100-bed COVID Care Centre in collaboration with the District Administration at Barmer. The company is also providing three meals a day to all patients at COVID Care Centre and District Hospital. Cairn India has provided 13 of its tankers and 50 oxygen cylinders in the need of the hour and transportation of oxygen cylinders for refilling is also being done regularly.


Hind Zinc’s bottling plant setup in record 5 days supports with 10k oxygen cylinders

Bottling plant was setup with a capacity of 500 cylinders/ day, Additional support of 160 MT liquid oxygen coming to 26,000 cylinders, Support extended in 6 districts – Udaipur, Rajsamand, Dungarpur, Sirohi, Jalore and Bhilwara
Udaipur. In time of a critical need of oxygen in the state, Hindustan Zinc has dedicated its entire supply of oxygen from its plant in Rajsamand to the Rajasthan government and local authorities. The company, which had setup an oxygen bottling plant at their Dariba location (Rajsamand district) in a record time of 5 days earlier this month, has now supplied over 10,000 cylinders of medical oxygen. Apart from the 10,000 cylinders HZL has also supported local authorities with an additional ~160 MT of liquid oxygen, providing a total of ~260 MT oxygen till now. The company is committed to a constant supply of ~10 MT oxygen daily in the form of liquid and cylinders.

Extending his appreciation to the team, Mr Sahiram Vishnoi, General Manager – District Industrial Centre Rajsamand said, “During such time of distress, Hindustan Zinc has helped our communities with a daily supply of 500-600 cylinders in hospitals of six districts of Rajasthan. With this help, we are ensuring that there is no shortage of oxygen under any emergency situation. It is commendable how the team worked on this plant with a quick turnaround of five days to support with a dedicated and no cost oxygen supply.”Post an approval from PESO and Drug Controller Jaipur for the oxygen to be of medical use, HZL’s Dariba plant was slightly modified and the infrastructure was adjusted to load tankers as an emergency requirement and supply liquid oxygen to Government through Cryogenic tankers. The bottling plant was also setup to convert available gaseous oxygen to higher pressure through gas oxygen compressor and fill cylinders for use in hospitals.
The company has evenextended the support to the health Administration, by disinfecting areas by spraying & fumigating with Sodium Hypochlorite solution and providing medical gears like masks, sanitizers & Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs). So far, around one lakh litres of Sodium Hypochlorite solution have been procured for sanitization purposes.


Contract Work force to benefit from Hind Zinc’s Group Corona Kavach policy for Business Partners

Cashless policy covers over 25800 workers, Ensured over 5000vaccinations so far for employees, family members, and business partners
At Hindustan Zinc (HZL), people are at the heart of its operations and partners in growth. While ensuringbeing responsible and thriving workplace, the company has introduced the Group Corona KavachPolicy for contract workforce against COVID 19 across locations in Rajasthan.

The wellbeing & safety of human resources are the top prioritiesat Hindustan Zinc and give a strong emphasis on people-centric policies enabling long-term growth. The company believes that along with employees, business partners play an equally important role in the growth of the organisation. The Group Corona Kavach policy for contract workers has been taken from New India Assurance, Mumbai that covers more than 25800 contract workforces.
This cashless policy covers all corona related diagnostic charges including pre-hospitalization and post-hospitalization expenses. The company has also provided COVID Death Policy through Go-Digit Insurance company for all the contract workers in the case of unfortunate exigency. Further, COVID Task Forces are deployed to monitor the impact on the entire workforce and families of employees.

Amidst this pandemic, Hindustan Zinc has adhered to the various mandated norms and regulations. The company has also introduced, as a reaction to the pandemic, various measures to change the way of working to ensure a safer working environment for the employees. The Guidelines were drawn centrally applicable for all operations of HZL, with responsibilities defined for business continuity and elimination of risk to the workforce. On the plant side, the company has taken all precautions by reducing footfall at the plant and redesigning the workforce.

Further, the company has arranged resources across its plants and state-of-the-art townships in remote locations of Rajasthan. With rapid increase in COVID-19 cases in the state causing a huge influx of patients in hospitals and acute shortage of oxygen for respiratory treatments, HZL took the initiative of providing oxygen supply to hospitals as a substitute for medication oxygen after due diligence. The company is giving liquid oxygen through cryogenic tankers from its oxygen plant at Rajpura Dariba Complex to RNT medical college at Udaipur. After providing liquid oxygen to the administration for the treatment of COVID patients, the company has gone a step beyond and is filling 500 oxygen cylinders per day with an oxygen bottling plant set up specifically for this purpose. The company has provided 160T liquid oxygen and approx. 9000 oxygen cylinders to the district administration. This is playing critical role in COVID relief efforts. Additionally, the company will soon commission a bottling plant with cylinder filling capacity of 1200 oxygen cylinders a day which will help meet further the shortage of oxygen. Hind Zinc setting up a state-of-the-art ‘field hospital’ in Dariba against COVID

New field hospital in Daribawill have a capacity of 100 beds for COVID patients, HZL ramps up oxygen supplies to hospitals, over 200T of oxygen supplied to District Administration
With an increase in COVID – 19 cases, there is an increased need for priority medical care facilities for COVID affected patients. Hindustan Zinc, committed to their Chairman’s thought of giving back, has come out firmly in support of the Rajasthan government in itsefforts to take both preventive and curative measures against the pandemic.

The companyis setting up a state-of-the-art ‘field hospital’ with a capacity of 100 critical care beds in Dariba at Hindustan Zinc’s DAV school. The hospital will be located in the DAV school ground and is in addition to the support provided to the 300-bed hospital already being setup in DAV school premises.
Housed in air-conditioned tents with full electrical support, the ‘field hospital’ will be designed specifically for COVID care. The critical care facilities will have 20 beds equipped with oxygen support while the remaining 80 ICU beds will have ventilator support. This is in addition to the DAV school air-conditioned infrastructure, continuous electricity, water supply, generator and fire tender support availed to the health administration for COVID relief
Mr. Arvind Poswal,District Collector, Rajsamandappreciated the efforts of Hindustan Zinc and said, “I express my sincere gratitude to HZL for setting up a dedicated 100 bed COVID hospital in Dariba which will be fully equipped with ventilators and other important medical instruments. It will help the underprivileged section of society in getting the quality treatment and thus be a great service to humanity in this era of crisis. I hope this dedicated COVID hospital will prove to be a milestone in saving the lives of our people during COVID 19 pandemic.”

Hindustan Zinc’s CEO, Mr Arun Misra said, “Hindustan Zinc stands united with the nation to provide any kind of help for our communities in the fight against COVID. We have ramped up our efforts to support the government by providing a vaccination van and a daily supply of ~10T oxygen to hospitals and local authorities. We stand shoulder to shoulder with the health administration and are providing this critical care facility of 100 beds for COVID patients, equipped with all necessary medical aid and ICU beds. Additionally, we are also working with local panchayats to regularly sanitize local communities and conduct awareness drives to prevent spread of COVID. We will continue our support to overcome this pandemic together.”
This is one more commendable initiative by the company towards COVID relief efforts for the people of Rajasthan. HZL is currently also providing 5T of medical oxygen per day, while another 5T of oxygen is being supplied daily in cylinders through its oxygen bottling plant. The company has so far provided over 200T ofoxygen to the district administration.
Across 5 districts of itsoperational areas, Hindustan Zinc is supporting local administration through critical care beds, necessary medical equipment, RTPCT machines, oxygen cylinders and supply, sanitization through hypochlorite solution, PPE kits as well as masks. Hindustan Zinc has provided over 4400 oxygen cylinders till date.
